Using Photos in Vue

The easiest way to bring a photo/picture into Vue is to use an alpha plane. To illustrate the process I used an old photo of me (a VERY old photo) and loaded it as a Color picture. In my graphic program I deleted everything that I didn't want to be displayed and filled that area with white color. I selected the white area and inverted the selection. Now my body was selected and I filled the area with black color. I saved this black and white picture and opened it as Alpha picture. I selected Adjust plane proportions to keep the proportions of the original picture. Here you can see the result:

Back on the working space you can resize the alpha plane and place it wherever you want it. If it's too dark enter the material editor and go to the Effects tab. Increase the luminosity till it looks right. So you won't have to use a separate light source to light up the picture. I hope this little tutorial is helpful.
